Beck Energy awarded contract for 2MWp solar park in Spain

August 18th, 2006 - The Beck Energy GmbH from Dimbach, Germany and ASSYCE Fotovoltaica S.L. from Granada, Spain, have closed a contract for the construction of a solar power plant with a total output capacityof 2MWp in Spain on August 14th. According to Beck Energy's CEO, Bernhard Beck, the approval process has already been completed and all necessarypermits obtained as of early this week. ASSYCE has chosen Beck Energy to fulfill the contract for their excellent system design in combination withthe state-of-the art CTS solar modules, supplied by Blitzstrom and manufactured by First Solar.

Beck Energy can rely on years of experience and 18 large-scale solar power plants already completed. This solar power plant in Spain will be fitted with Blitzstrom CTS-series solar modules, that excel through high efficiency. At the moment, Beck Energy is constructing another solar power plant of 3,16MWp in Markt Bibart, Franconia (Germany), that is also fitted exclusively with thin-film technology modules.

More large-scale solar power plants in the 10MWp range planned for 2007

"ASSYCE Fotovoltaica would have liked to construct more solar power plants in the 10MWp range this year", says Luis Garrido, one of ASSYCE's managing directors. Due to supply shortages of solar modules most of those projects had to be postponed until 2007. "The long-lasting partnership of Beck Energy with Blitzstrom and First Solar convinced us to enter into the contract", states Garrido. "This is the beginning of a strategic partnership to introduce Blitzstrom's CTS series of solar modules into the Spanish market for large-scale photovoltaic systems."
